Join Sam Western as he presents "Discovereing Mr. Whitney", a presentation on historical research and writing.
Sam Western, author of “Solace in Numbers, a biography of Edward A. Whitney” and “The History of Whitney Benefits”, will present the program at the Sheridan County Historical Society’s dinner on Thursday, January 26. Western will share some of his experiences researching and writing about E. A. Whitney.
The dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Kalif Shrine, at 145 W. Loucks, with the free program at 6:45. The back door will be open for guests who wish to use that entrance. The dinner is $14 and catered by Killy’s Smokehouse Deli. For those wishing to attend the dinner, please call reservations in to the Museum at 675-1150 by noon on Tuesday, January 24.
Sam Western is a Sheridan-based freelance writer focusing on the economic and demographic history of the West. His other books include “Pushed Off the Mountain” and “Sold Down the River: Wyoming's Search for Its Soul”. He has also published poems and a number of articles. Western was also the recipient of a Wyoming Literary Fellowship.
